Introduction: The demand of cortisol rises during stress and to avoid acute cortisol deficiency, patients undergoing transsphenoidal surgery at Skåne University Hospital (Sweden) receive peri- and postoperative substitution with hydrocortisone (HC), even at normal ACTH function.
